About

Hello! My name is Nick Garcia and I received my PhD in U.S. History with a minor in colonial Latin American History from the University of California, Davis in 2023.

My dissertation research focused on the experiences of Native American people in colonial New England, with a specific emphasis on examining the impact of English settler colonialism on their societies between 1640 and 1675.

I was also one of the co-founders of the Bulosan Center for Filipino Studies, wherein I participated in various activist projects and pursued a vigorous research agenda with respect to understanding the modern Filipinx American experience.

Currently I work as a history professor at College of the Redwoods in Eureka, where I teach a variety of courses. On this website I'll be providing information about the courses I teach and my upcoming, current, and past research projects.
